... and America does NOT have a birthright to cheap oil? Should Russia and China be dancing as America looks at a brink? America is starting to feel like Russia did about 30 years ago --- everyone wants "free" (healthcare in today's America) while few are willing to study hard or work hard to earn it. Everyone seems to want the Government to spend $400,000 to keep grandma in a nursing home for a few years while no one wants to pay the bill. Those are great idea. But, Americans seem to have little desire to do the work needed to PAY for it.

Well we have "free" highways that we all pay for at the pump. Painless isn't it? National health care would be painless too. How many times has your mother told you not to go over to the rich kids neighborhood? They don't let you play because they like you. They let you play with them because they can use you. Quit being their patsy

Nothing is "free." If only the idealistic liberals could learn that.

I don't do this one for points. That point cannot be more evident when I say tommy... your a moron. Americans invented big spending. The reason we want free health care is because countries like Australia and Canada have free health care. In fact, Iraq had free health care under Saddam. So, is it so wrong for Americans to think their healthcare should be free. Since we are the richest biggest dog in the yard? Maybe we don't have a birthright to cheap oil but we have the military to make sure you don't either. I personally would rather find an alternative now, but with a military as strong as Americas do you really see the American people giving up their cars when they can just take the oil? Yes we have spent a lot on the war in Iraq. But it proves one thing. Not even the people in the middle east are stupid enough to fight the Super Power on a conventional battlefield.... not even for their religion. America may turn out to be like ancient Rome.... but not today comrade. Thumbs down??? What you disagree with Americas undeniable power or the obvious question that if Saddam can give free health care why can't American?
