Moody's May Get Rid of US Gov't AAA Rating. Is that Because Americans are Now Socialists

Moody's May Get Rid of US Gov't AAA Rating. Is that Because Americans are Now Socialists?
... and we spend money on fighting wars with blank checks? 50% of blacks and hispanics drop out of school. We think we should give free heatlhcare to any immigrant and his/her extended family. We all want free nursing home care even if it costs taxpayers $500,000. We want doctors to spend endless sums of money to keep us alive during our last years of life We "have" to make sure every retiree gets has heat, food, and medical care. And, we put a "monkey" on the back of a worker where he has to pay for those things not only for his/her family --- but for the elderly, single moms, illegals, etc. Everyone wants handouts. Yet, we have plenty of people who are no more capable than a poor person in China. Yet, the American expects to live like a king compared to the person in China with about the same education (no college).

It's probably because our crazy president has run our economy into the ground with his wars!
2 :
no, that's because we are trying to make ourselves into a christian theocracy and we try to make everyone else one too.
3 :
No, it's because the idiot administration has sunk us so deep in debt to other countries and weakened the dollar to such an extent that any recovery is a long way off. All the idiocy you refer to is the result of 8 years of inept management.
4 :
Liberals programs started in the middle of the 20th century have eroded personal responsibility that built this country to where every one feels they deserve a free handout and where liberals reinforce the notion that nothing is ever an individuals fault, it's always someone else's fault. We were debt free as a nation until these liberal programs started and have been in debt ever since. This country is slowly dieing because liberals are making everyone rely on the government for everything which in turn makes americans very lazy.

Elect a Democratic President and we will be a socialist government. Democrat = More taxes, more handouts. That's what they preach. You now have a Majority of Democrats in Congress, but all they do is sit there and worry about whether or not a baseball player is using steroids. COME ON! You are right! "WE" is the operative word. "WE" keep electing people to Washington that keep giving it all away. If "WE" don't like it, take it to the voting booth and kick the idiots out. But, "WE" need to quit complaining about it unless "WE" are willing to back it up with a vote on election day.
6 :
Moody's doesn't care about the social issues. It's because our economy is in the tank. It's because our economy is being floated by financial institutions in Dubai and China. It's because we are spending trillions of dollars on a war that can't be won with no end in sight. It's because our current administration has spent money like drunken sailors for the last 7 years resulting in the biggest deficit we have ever had. Just remember. McCain is the one who says he doesn't know anything about the economy. Vote Dem. The last time we had a balanced budget was when Clinton was in office. Our problems have absolutley nothing to do with anything other than excess spending by the current administration (and NOT on handouts), who by the way, is a GOP pres. and was a GOP house and senate for the majority of the time.
7 :
my god.. why do you people keep on whining and crying about handouts.. it is the republican presidents that have bankrupted this country bush and regan have probably spent 3x as much money as all the rest of the presidents in all of history COMBINED.. and bush has NOTHING but debt and ruined country to show for it.. at least regan ended the cold war if that money had been spent on social programs like wind farms .. our country would have free energy forever.. we wouldnt need your damn oil.. or your corporate welfare war in iraq.. the problem is not minoritys.. its your damn greed.
8 :
To the above poster. How is it greed? How is it the governments business? The constitution does not give the government the right to create a federal income tax.

Does height affect employment opportunities

Does height affect employment opportunities?
I'm a 5'5 (barefoot) tall male. I've recently graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and about to obtain a degree in Chemical engineering from UC Berkeley. Many of my friends from China stated that height plays a dramatic role in whether they will most likely be employed in the political field, law, or any business type work. They also said height affects the "dating scene" as well. I know this might sound as nonsense and illogical; however, I believe with China's GDP dramatically increasing, I might work for them in the late future with most of the jobs in the United States being offshored. Of course, I completely understand that life is unfair and I had no control of my own genes that encodes the phenotype for height.

It matters both in China and US. However, in China they're more obvious about it. They'll specifically specifiy height in job postings sometimes. In the US, you'd just get cut at the interview. So yes it does matter. You can make up for it with talent though.

Yes it does and if you are concerned then wear elevator shoes. See http://www.walktallshoes.com/ Also don't slouch, i.e. stomach in, chest out to stand tall.

Would this work for an occupation

Would this work for an occupation?
Paid hospital assistants needed? Although I have never been confined to a Philippines hospital, I have read that people who are admitted require a personal caregiver because the nursing staff performs only medical duties. This is the same situation as in China, where I have been in a hospital. As soon as a new patient is admitted, a broker approaches the patient and offers the services of a caregiver who then brings a folding cot and stays with the patient at all times. For people with no family members, this is a very viable service. This business—and it is a business—would require low levels of capital to begin. Do you think it would work in the Philippines? P.S. I have no interest in starting a business of any type. It just seems that there may be a need and that some entrepreneurial person may be able to make it work. Deliverance: Wrong! I have been ti the philippines many times. Your story does not correlate well with this poster: http://www.livingincebuforums.com/ipb/index.php?showtopic=10630 He has no reason to mislead, while your response sounds like a fairy tale. Is this the crab mentality at work? This was meant to be a question that could be mutually beneficially to both patient and caregiver. If anybody thought I was taking a cheap shot at Pinoy Pride, then they have serious problems. BTW, if anybody read the stated thread, I would like ti apologize for the obnoxious comment from the Aussie known as "Loosehead". It is partly because of bottom-feeder expats like him that caused me to cancel my plans to invest in a PRA visa. I will instead go from China to Saipan.

You need to go to the hospitals and ask all the questions--you have to see if there is insurance required for your services--in case something goes wrong. You won't get adequate answers here--GO TO THE HOSPITALS
2 :
concern to medical staff
3 :
a matter of opinion, any kind of business will work if one has the aspiration. Never mind if many people thinks its not viable. However, in countries like the Philippines, not everyone can have the means to pay this kind of services how much more the hospital bill even if they do not have a family. Whilst, it's more viable for the affordable group. So, you may need to focus your target of business in areas nearby where these group of affordable people reside or the hospitals they frequently visit.
4 :
FIRST OF ALL, have you been to the Philippines yet? I guess not. Paid hospital asst. huh? Since you never been confined to a Philippines general hospital and never seen the Philippines environment for yourself & what is all about. This paid hospital assistant you are talking about wouldn't possible work in the Philippines. WHAT YOU READ in that article about people who are admitted required a personal caregiver, that is quite correct esp. if the patient is convalescence by nature. That is also true not only in the Philippines but through out the world health care that nursing jobs are only confined for nursing duties and not giving personal care for every patients. But as a Filipino this thing you are referring too like caregiving is also in the scope of the Philippines nursing care so I doubt if a patient like a Filipino would require a personal caregiver aside from the nurse. A Filipino nurse is like having 2-in-1 personality inside the hospital. This is how a Filipina nurse cares about their patient compared to other nationality in the category of nursing care. So if you are in the Philippines and you are confined to a general hospital, you will find yourself surrounded by Philippines nurses for immediate assistance and you don't bother to ask for a personal caregiver for that purpose. Because that is why Filipina nurses are sooth after employees through out the world because of this. Filipina nurses are considered No. 1 in terms of nursing care. I know because I am married to one. The minute you open your eyes in the morning inside the hospital, a smiling Filipina nurse will ask how are you doing? Take your vital signs and wash and clean you up and give you a new dress, take the old bed sheet and give you a new one, give you the shot if you needed it and the pills for it and reminds you that she will be back to check on you next couple of hours. As if you are in a 5 star luxury hotel. Next minute a new batch of undergraduate nurses from their own school will visit you with a lecturing doctor or physician to addressed your condition and give the students the lecture and what they should do about it. You will find there is no boring moment inside a Philippine general hospital. Next minute another nurse will step inside your room and ask about your condition and look up your chart for any further changes and leave you with a smile. THAT MAYBE TRUE in China but not in the Philippines. In the Philippines they practically do not need personal caregivers, other relatives can step into the picture for that and of course the Philippines nurses can also fill in the gap. Even if the person has no relatives whatsoever, he or she is practically in a good hands while in the Philippines. Maybe in China it will work but obviously not in the Philippines. That is why we Filipinos are branded to be hospitable and warm people. We care for others, compare Filipinos with other nationality they are pale to comparison. That is why all over the world esp. in Saudi hospital they insist that all their nurses must be Filipinos. Do I have to say more?
5 :
It's viable as long as you know where to start in terms of contact person in the hospital administration. Its a great idea since you're thinking outside the box. Perhaps it would be a good idea if you would start a small one then by word of mouth in this kind of services being rendered there will be more referral to come your way especially if the patients are contented. It would be a lot of legwork for you to do but at the end, patience pays off and success would be under your way.

Has the Chinese once again surpass or outpace us in terms of medical studies & research

Has the Chinese once again surpass or outpace us in terms of medical studies & research?
It was featured on the TFC program the Correspondent episode with Karen Davila entitled "gamot sa salot" which pertain to cancer diseases. Right now the Chinese are the one have the edge in cryosurgery at Fuda, China. So what is cryosurgery all about? Cryosurgery is a technique for freezing and killing abnormal cells. It is used to treat some kinds of cancer and some precancerous or noncancerous conditions, and can be used both inside the body and on the skin .Cryosurgery is an alternative to surgery for liver cancer that has not spread, for cancer that has spread to the liver from another site, for prostate cancer confined to the prostate gland, for a precancerous condition of the cervix, and for cancerous and noncancerous tumors of the bone Cryosurgery may have fewer side effects than other types of treatments, and is less expensive and requires shorter recovery times The technique is still under study, and its long-term effectiveness is not known. This research is being applied in China for the past 10 years, yet still unknown in the Philippines. Why? That is why everybody is going to China for the treatment of cancer. European and even Filipinos who have money. Because the treatment is quite expensive. A package deal consist of $20,000. with complete treatment and a medicine injection that guarantee that the cancer cell will not resurface once again. Which most victims claim much better than what the Philippines doctors usually recommend the chemo and the radiaction treatment which kills even the good cell. I am really surprise about this episode because I thought Filipino doctors are good in terms of medical research and studies. But after this, I think otherwise. We are being outpace by Chinese doctors maybe not only in cryosurgery but a lot of things concerning medical research either cancerous cells or viruses. What is wrong with our medical field? We run out of money? The Philippine government is not funding the Philippine medical research? Maybe 3-7 years from now even the Koreans or Malaysian doctors have the edge in medical studies too. NAIWAN NA TALAGA TAYO SA PANSITAN. With all the cheating in nursing profession and other fields, who would believe Filipinos are good now a days. Nakakapanghinaan ng luob watching the development of other countries na hindi tayo kasama. What is happening to our country?

Medical research? What's that? Does it exist in the Philippines? Whatever medicine, procedures and medical equipment we have (except for the handful of herbal-based supplements that are originally Pinoy), are a result of research abroad --- mostly American, plus medical experts from other developed nations. China is catching up real fast. The AH1N1 vaccine is out in the US, and less than a year in the making. On the other hand, Dengue is usually a problem in the tropics, and not an American disease. Although it is not transmitted from person-to-person and thus not likely a cause of a pandemic, it is nevertheless a deadly virus. We Filipinos should have come up with the solution already, including a vaccine. But noooo, because we don't have the facilities, or doctor-scientists, even if we have good doctors in our hospitals to deal with after-the-fact problems. If we are waiting for the US or other nations to come up with a dengue vaccine, it should not take too long for them, but still they will take forever to do it, as their own countrymen won't benefit from it, and the drugs won't sell, not on a worldwide basis anyway. They are still corporations, in existence to make money, money that will go to further research. What major drug company do we have in the Philippines that won't just sell generics, but will undertake such research? None.

chinese medicine surpass western medicine since time immemorial and when filipinos became excellent in their fields, they no longer want to remain filipino, they would go to first world countries, become citizens there and do the best effort for the interest of that country and not the Philippines and just say their heritage is filipino. Yeah!.
3 :
IT IS ONLY THE POLITICIANS WHO ARE ALL DOING THE RESEARCHING AND THAT IS HOW TO STEAL MONEY FROM THE PEOPLE AND STASHED INTO THEIR POCKETS.
4 :
Um, I don't remember a time when they haven't

i applaud your patriotism and enthusiasm for our culture, but sometimes you're just way off the mark with your sentiments. why don't you just concentrate on manny pacquiao?... ...oh on second thought, don't.
6 :
Are you joking? Have you ever been to a hospital in China? I have been many times and have mostly had bad experiences. I went to one Chinese hospital to visit a Briton who had a broken clavicle and they had him in dirty bed in a hallway because the wards, which are more like warehouses, were full. The Filipino physicians I have seen have been western-trained and very competent.
