Do Chinese mothers breastfeed

Do Chinese mothers breastfeed?
I'm wondering because I've never been to China and we've been hearing a lot about the tainted milk in the news... and how those babies have been given formula which made them sick. Now, I don't know whether breastfeeding is taboo in China but for some reason people give their children formula instead. Do Chinese women (in China) breastfeed, or is that against the norm? I've also heard reports that now that the formula products aren't safe, parents are hiring wet nurses for their babies. So, it seems as though mothers don't want to breastfeed but would hire somebody else to do it?

Chinese mothers breastfeed. If they haven;t previously, they may lose the ability to do so and have to hire someone or risk using tainted products.

Ironically, most chinese children were breastfeed until about two years old and then use soya milk. However, as the quick development in city, women have contributed 50% of labor force. It seems impossible for breastfeed from their mother. The problems in breastfeed would be too depending on the health of those mothers who may be not so fit.

When it comes to breastfeeding there is very little difference in nations..... most mothers in China breastfeed.... Unprocessed dairy milk can harbor many illnesses including TB.....when milk is pasteurized that removes / reduces the risk. You are blessed to live in a country that requires milk pasteurization.....
